Home Assistant backups is used by its owner only. When you authorize it, Google issues an access token that is stored on your own Home Assistant server. The app uses it only to upload, list, download and delete the backup files it created in your Google Drive (drive.file scope).
No data is sent to the app's developer or to any third party. Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising. Google user data is handled in line with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
To revoke access, remove the app at myaccount.google.com/permissions or delete the Google Drive integration in Home Assistant. Questions: victorcheeney@gmail.com
